THE TRADITION OF FRENCH TRUMPET
Maurice André, who died in 2012, was the best known representative of the French trumpet tradition. Prestigious from the beginning, flamboyant in the 1970s, this tradition threaten to disappear because of a lack of transmission. The reputation of this tradition remains as France continues to attract foreign students looking to be taught the “French” trumpet.
